We are recruiting Foster Parents
Chisinau, 14th of August 2017 – A foster care parents recruitment campaign is in full swing at Chisinau. More than 200 posters were placed in trolleybuses and other 70 in public buses. Hopefully this campaign will attract people who wish to offer a family environment for children who are at risk of being institutionalized or are already in orphanages. At the same time, a video spot is broadcasted in public transport in Chisinau. The video is part of the national foster care parents recruitment campaign “You are born in my soul”. Ionela Hadarca, a vlogger and actress, as well as a 4-year-old boy, Iustin Varzari, are the protagonist of the video.
The promotion of the campaign in public transport has the aim to extend and diversify Foster Care Services which will provide a family environment for 0-3 year-old children, children with disabilities and for groups of siblings from Chisinau. At the moment, Municipal Child Rights Protection Directorate has only 36 foster care parents, but another 14 are needed to deal with the flux of children left with no parental care.
The campaign is supported by the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family, Municipal Child Rights Protection Directorate, The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Moldova and CCF Moldova – Child, Community, Family, the official representative of Hope and Homes for Children UK.
